Wallace-Hiawatha Ride The Passes

Ride from Wallace ID, up to Lookout Pass, down the Northern Pacific RR Trail to Taft, MT and then up to the Hiawatha Trailhead, down The Route of the Hiawatha to Pierson, up Moon Pass, back to Wallace, ID!

Commemorate the Hiawatha Trail 20th Year in 2018. On Sunday, August 12th we’ll park our vehicles near the Wallace Brewery and precede riding to Mullen along the paved bike path trail along the north side of HWY 90. We’ll cross over 90 on the 4th St. Bridge and connect with the dirt trail that wind along the south side of 90 to Lookout Pass. At Lookout Ski area we will purchase a Hiawatha Trail Ride permit and then proceed riding the old railroad grade down to Taft, Montana. At Taft, we’ll take the Cliff Creek Road to the east portal of the Hiawatha Trail System and ride the Trail to the junction of Pearson and North Fork of the St. Joe Road. From here we’ll proceed up the St. Joe Road to Moon Pass and then return to Wallace. Estimated mileage is 56+ miles.
