The City of Hayden will hold its annual “Hayden Lights” Parade and Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, December 7. The parade starts at 5:00 p.m. beginning at Hayden Avenue and will proceed south to Honeysuckle Avenue.The Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony will immediately follow the parade at McIntire Family Park. Entertainment will include musical presentations by the Atlas and Hayden Meadows Elementary School Choruses. The Christmas tree will be lighted by Mayor Steven Griffitts with the assistance of local children. The evening’s events will be highlighted by the appearance of Santa Claus, who will then proceed to Hayden City Hall Council Chambers to listen to children’s wishes and pass out treats.
Businesses and organizations interested in participating in the parade should call the city of Hayden at 208-2091080 or visit the city of Hayden website at www.cityofhaydenid.us for an application. There is no cost to participate in the Hayden Lights Parade, and applications are being accepted through Monday, Dec. 2.
The public is invited to attend. Free hot chocolate, coffee and cookies will be served in the McIntire Family Park gazebo. Arts, crafts and games will be provided by P1FCU for kids while they wait to see Santa!
Donations will be accepted for the USMRC Toys for Tots campaign.
